Hi all! Today I thought i’d try to share with you a few of the great new fabric lines we have gotten in recently. Both stores are freshly restocked with beautiful fabrics- and with Quilt Market right around the corner more will be coming soon! Some of these lines we have gotten in for both locations, and some of them we have chosen for one store in particular. I’ll be sure to let you know which store currently has what!
First up is a stunning line from Moda that you will see son featured in my April Quilt of the Month, (you can check the previous quilts of the month by clicking HERE for January, HERE for February, and HERE for March) The line is called “Hearty Good Wishes” by Janet Clare and we have it at both locations.
You can check out the entire collection on Moda’s website HERE. This line is a perfect blend of traditional nautical motifs and colors with a slightly updated spin. We have the entire collection, but it won’t last long! If you are at the Williamsville location you can even get a peak at the Carpenters Star quilt I made using this line. Here’s a teaser shot…
Next up we have a line that is HUGE out in the internet. It’s called “Botanics” and it’s designed by Carolyn Friedlander.
This line is gorgeous…it’s very interesting as it does not have a strong “focus” fabric, rather it’s a collection of different textures, geometrics, florals and blenders in great colors with a little metallic thrown in.
This line is also at both locations and has 2 coordinating 102″ wide backs! I think you have to see this one in person for sure. It’s the line I am currently most in love with. I can see it being used in many applications…garment, home dec and quilting for sure! I just got some cut to make a purse for the store…I’ll be sure to post about that when it’s done!
We have also received two amazing yellow and grey lines recently. We decided to keep one at each shop as to not flood the store with yellow and grey (although it would have been beautiful!). At the East Aurora Location we have “Gray Matters” by Camelot Cottons.
This one leans slightly more modern, but not so much that it’s tough to blend into some of the things you may have in your stash at home.
If any of you have daughters/nieces/friends or friends of friends who are looking to do a nursery in “yellow and grey” this line is PERFECT for that. I actually made a baby quilt for a dear friend using it and a great pattern from Cluck Cluck Sew called “to the point” (which we also have in shop).
This collection is so soft and pretty, and has a STUNNING quilt to accompany it made and quilted by the super talented Michele Condrad. You have to see the quilt in person, but in the meantime here’s a shot of the “Free with Purchase” pattern.
Isn’t it stunning? As you can see these two lines are very different…it’s hard to pick a favorite!
Just in time for spring both locations have a fresh bunch of 30’s reproductions. A great line called “Playtime” from Moda.
30’s fabrics are always a hit- come and get them before they’re gone!
We’ve gotten a collection of adorable novelty fabrics in from Robert Kaufman, including coffee cups, and cats on chairs!
Williamsville has V and Co’s latest line “Color Me Happy”. Vanessa is one of my favorites, her fabrics are always so happy!
This cheery line is a collection of bright colors and happy prints, including a great striped ombre, that has so many uses- I love how Vanessa from V and Co has used it to make textures pillows (photos borrowed from her Blog)
Last but not least, East Aurora has a beautiful group called “Lumina” by Peggy Toole.
So thats a small sampling of what’s new in the store, lots of exciting things in the works, the Summer “Sewing Times” (our class newsletter) should be out in a few weeks, I have a proof to review sitting on my desk- I promise we’re working as fast as we can on it! Barb, Carol, Ina, Phyllis and I will be headed to Quilt Market in Pittsburg in a few weeks, so stay tuned for a Quilt market recap post on the blog, and the “April Quilt of the Month” Should be posted soon!
Tell me, what’s your favorite of our new fabrics? Have you been in the shop lately and picked up something you adore? Tell me!
