We’re here! Barb, Phyllis, Ina, Carol, Sheila and I arrived today in Pittsburgh for Quilt Market! Today was a travel day, so we left Buffalo at 9:30am and headed to Pittsburgh, which is only about a 4 hour drive away. We made one pit stop at Karen Montgomery’s amazing quilt shop, “The Quilt Company” which is about 30 minutes outside of Pittsburgh, but other than that we drove straight though!
It was also HOT here today! in the 90’s at least…this water looked mighty tempting…
The first thing we did when we got settled was to go to the registration desk at the convention center to pick up our official quilt market badges. Badges must be worn at all times during market and grant you admission to the classes and to the exhibition halls.
Normally there’s not a view of the market floor until it opens on Friday morning, but as we were wondering around to find out way back to the hotel we found this great view of the hall! So many busy people working hard to get their booths set up!
Tomorrow is “School House”, where we’ll spend the day taking 30 minute (or so) classes from different vendors and exhibitors about the new products we will see throughout the show- it’s almost like little infomercials about the products they will be showing at their booths…so fun!
I will do my best to update tomorrow! We will see how much energy I have left…wish us luck!
