Well, day 4 is over which means we are closer to leaving Pittsburgh than we are to just having gotten here. I’m trying to to be too sad about that and instead focusing on the fact that we’ve got another whole day left of market tomorrow…(trying to focus on the positive!) If you missed the posts about Day 1, 2 and 3 you can read them HERE, HERE, and HERE.
Today Barb and I finished the rest of the aisles. The good thing about that is that it leaves us tomorrow to go back and hit up all the places we wrote down that we didn’t get to talk to yet. Barb’s got some Sewing and Embroidery Club special events to book, some colors to choose for some new threads we hope to carry and a whole bunch of other last minute tie ups to get done. That means that tomorrow will be a little loony…but today…was a GREAT day!
Parkside fabrics had a booth right by the front doors, and I got a kick out of seeing this sign every time we entered and exited the market floor. We love to support a local company, we carry some of their batiks!
Disa is one of those amazing talents that can write one great book after another. She’s no one-hit-wonder!
We also picked up some new patterns from Plum Tree designs. You may know this company- they produce the “Woodland Star” pattern that we had in the shop made in Stonehenge. Don’t you love how luminescent this zig zag quilt is?
Remember the Leaves Galore Template that Arlene taught a few years ago? Well Sue Pelland has come out with a GREAT new ruler that cuts hearts, circles, tear drops and more!
One of the best things was turning a corner and seeing Ruthann Stilwell! We are SO proud of her and Susan Rooney who have their 1st booth at market.Barb grabbed some people and pulled them into the booth to tell them how great Ruthann’s patterns are! Go Ruthhann!
We’re joining Smith Street Designs ADORABLE towel of the month program…this one is going to be HOT, so keep your ears open for that announcement probably sometime in the fall. These are so cute because they incorporate so many techniques along with applique.
We were SO lucky to attend a book signing by Angela Walters, the unbelievable free motion quilter and author…this signed copy of her latest book “Free Motion Quilting Workbook” will be a treasured possession for sure (and yes, I know how lucky I am!!)
Well that’s the short version of today…I’d like to go to bed now…time to get some rest for our last day of power shopping…See you all tomorrow!
