Quilt Market Pittsburgh, Day 4!

International Quilt Market, Pittsburgh View

Well, day 4 is over which means we are closer to leaving Pittsburgh than we are to just having gotten here. I’m trying to to be too sad about that and instead focusing on the fact that we’ve got another whole day left of market tomorrow…(trying to focus on the positive!) If you missed the posts about Day 1, 2 and 3 you can read them HERE, HERE, and HERE.

I had to take an “artsy” picture of a detail from the convention center…

Today Barb and I finished the rest of the aisles. The good thing about that is that it leaves us tomorrow to go back and hit up all the places we wrote down that we didn’t get to talk to yet. Barb’s got some Sewing and Embroidery Club special events to book, some colors to choose for some new threads we hope to carry and a whole bunch of other last minute tie ups to get done. That means that tomorrow will be a little loony…but today…was a GREAT day!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAParkside fabrics had a booth right by the front doors, and I got a kick out of seeing this sign every time we entered and exited the market floor. We love to support a local company, we carry some of their batiks!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOne of the booths we saw at the beginning of our day was from our dear friends at Sew Kind of Wonderful! As you guys know Jenny and Helen were just in the store and gave an AWESOME sewing club.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThey’ve got new patterns out as well as a great new book, keep your eyes peeled for those in the store very soon.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERADisa Designs also has a great new book out called “My Table”. We always love Disa’s projects, and this book is full of some adorable ones!

Disa is one of those amazing talents that can write one great book after another. She’s no one-hit-wonder!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAWe also picked up some new patterns from Plum Tree designs. You may know this company- they produce the “Woodland Star” pattern that we had in the shop made in Stonehenge. Don’t you love how luminescent this zig zag quilt is?

Remember the  Leaves Galore Template that Arlene taught a few years ago? Well Sue Pelland has come out with a GREAT new ruler that cuts hearts, circles, tear drops and more!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAIsn’t this adorable heart quilt awesome? These hearts, the petals, and the flower centers are all cut out using Sue’s new ruler!

One of the best things was turning a corner and seeing Ruthann Stilwell! We are SO proud of her and Susan Rooney who have their 1st booth at market.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERABarb grabbed some people and pulled them into the booth to tell them how great Ruthann’s patterns are! Go Ruthhann!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAWe’re joining Smith Street Designs ADORABLE towel of the month program…this one is going to be HOT, so keep your ears open for that announcement probably sometime in the fall. These are so cute because they incorporate so many techniques along with applique.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERANew patterns from Modern Quilt Relish….

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAI love this shot…here’s Barb teaching the guy from Cameo Silhouette how to use their BERNINA….she hauled him over to the BERNINA booth after this and had them teach him some more!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAWe were SO lucky to attend a book signing by Angela Walters, the unbelievable free motion quilter and author…this signed copy of her latest book “Free Motion Quilting Workbook” will be a treasured possession for sure (and yes, I know how lucky I am!!)

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERALook! It’s Marianne Fons! It’s like being with Quilting royalty…

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAnd just in case you thought we were all work and no play, Phyllis and Sheila had time for a trip to the beach! Who knew Sheila had those muscles?

Well that’s the short version of today…I’d like to go to bed now…time to get some rest for our last day of power shopping…See you all tomorrow!
